The Healthcare Identifiers Bill 2010 is still to pass the senate and this legislation underpins better medical information management. The passage of this legislation is an essential step in enabling e-health innovation and efficiency.
Major cost savings can also be achieved through a reduction in the number of tests ordered and better management of chronic diseases supported by evidence based guidelines. e-health is about improving our patients’ health outcomes, and every person in Australia should receive care that is informed by an electronic health summary.
