The college is undertaking a targeted review of the Standards for general practices (revised 3rd edition) with five advisory working groups creating and updating the Standards. The working groups are: the National Expert Committee on Standards for General Practices, e-Health, Clinical Governance, Medication Management, and Health care Associated Infection. Your comments and suggestions for improving the current Standards will be essential for the success of the new edition, which will be launched in Cairns at GP’10. Practices will have 12 months after the launch in which they can be accredited against the earlier edition. The Standards are not mandatory, and are created by the profession for the profession. There will be a number of ways that you can have input into the review process. The first feedback is an online survey that we ask you to complete. There are two online surveys available: GPs and general practice staff please visit http://racgp.informz.net/survistapro/s.asp?id=1942. Accreditation surveyors please visit http://racgp.informz.net/survistapro/s.asp?id=1992. The deadline for feedback is 30 November. For review process information email standards@racgp.org.au.
