13 November 2009 Review of our Standards for general practices
The college is undertaking a targeted review of the RACGP Standards for general practices (revised 3rd edition). It is anticipated that the new edition will be launched in Cairns at GP’10. Your comments and suggestions for improving the current Standards will be essential for the success of the new edition.
The areas we particularly want comment on are:
- What should be taken out of the Standards ?
- What flags should change?
- What criteria or indicators should be changed?
We also want your ideas on what to include in the specific areas of e-health, clinical governance, medication management, and health care associated infection.
We particularly want to hear from practices that have recently gone through accreditation (in the last 6 months) and practices that are not accredited.
There are a number of ways that you can have input into the review process. Respond to our online surveys for GPs and practice staff at
http://racgp.informz.net/survistapro/s.asp?id=1942. Surveyors should go to
