Our college has now over 16 482 Australian GP members, of which 5658 are also members of our National Rural Faculty. We are proud that so many Australian GPs choose to join our college. This is the highest number in our 52 year history, 575 above last year’s previous record number and a significant milestone.
Our total RACGP membership, including residents, interns, affiliate members (medical students, practice managers, practice nurses and IMGs who are not medically registered in Australia) and overseas members (doctors who are registered and practising overseas), is over 20 000 and still growing.
The past 12 months have presented a range of challenges to general practice, which only serves to reinforce the central role of a united general practice in our health system. Your membership is vital in strengthening our voice for advocating on key issues in the profession.
Across Australia, our members volunteer their time and commit their knowledge and expertise to supporting the RACGP’s many national standing committees, our faculties, the delivery of our Fellowship exams, our mentoring programs and much more. The contribution of our members to the college and their community is greatly valued and appreciated. We thank you all for your ongoing efforts for your community.
M5 encourages men and those who care about them to recognise the importance of men forming an ongoing relationship with a GP.
